2019 The Road to hickory fest Kickoff Concert

Join us as we kick-off the "Road to Hickory Fest" with a special performance by The Jakobs Ferry Stragglers at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Wellsboro Pennsylvania.

The evening will benefit the Wellsboro Area School District Music Department and will start with a reception at 6pm hosted by the WASD Music Booster. 

All of the proceeds raised from the reception and concert will go to benefit the WASD Music Booster!

The Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers draw freely from old-time, bluegrass, country, jazz, rockabilly and swing styles to create their tight, high-energy string band music. Well-crafted original songs with emotional depth, masterful picking, and resonant vocal harmonies combine to forge new territories and a fresh take on Appalachian Americana music. 

Tickets are $20 ($10 for Students) and will be available through the Deane Center box office. 570-724-6220

Hickory Fest, now in its 17th year will once again be held on the 3rd weekend of August at the Stony Fork Creek Campground in Wellsboro Pennsylvania. Co-founded and produced by Sue Cunningham, Hickory Fest continues in her honor and raises money for causes that were dear to her heart.

Hickory Fest beneficiaries include;
- The Tioga County Pennsylvania Relay for Life,  with over $50,000 raised to date!
- The Sue Cunningham Music Scholarship at the Wellsboro Area High School in Wellsboro Pennsylvania.
- The Sue Cunningham Music Scholarship at the Rock L. Butler Middle School in Wellsboro Pennsylvania.
- The NEW Sue Cunningham Music Scholarship at Mansfield University in Mansfield Pennsylvania.

- The Sue Cunningham Memorial Music Scholarship at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach Florida.
- The Sari Center for Integrative Cancer Care in Palm Beach County Florida.
